Sandcastle Contest

8:30 a.m. – Sign-in on the beach near the flagpole

9:00 a.m. – Building begins

10:30 a.m. – Judging of structures by age group

Age Groups:  Ages 1-4, Ages 5-8, Ages 9-12, Ages 13-18, Family (all ages with parents)

A fun family event with prizes!  Bring your sand building toys and imaginations for a great time on the beach. Team sign-up sheets will be available at the Kiosk in early June to get your team signed up and ready to go!

Members Picnic

Meet and Greet the DLPOA Board Members while they grill up hamburgers and hotdogs for the Beach Community!

Deja Vu

LIVE ON THE BEACH… Who doesn’t love our famous local Truckee band!

Brushes on the Beach

Join artist-in-residence Michele for an afternoon of painting! Unleash your inner artist and create a work suitable for framing in your Donner Lake cabin. Supplies will be provided. All ages and talent levels welcome. Kids under 10 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Movie Night on the Beach

Join us to watch a kid-friendly movie under the stars. Bring your chair or a blanket to sit on. We’ll pop the popcorn!

Cardboard Regatta

2pm Registration, 3pm Races Begin!

Competitors will create a boat using cardboard and duct tape for this race to a (very close) buoy and back! Build your boat in advance and bring it to the beach to display an hour before the race starts. Prizes will be awarded in two age groups: 12 and younger and 13 and older.
